Cookies policy

Everything you need to know about cookies on EnterReg.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember things about you – like the fact that you’re logged in, or the preferences you’ve set. They’re what stop you having to log in again on every single page. Some cookies are essential for a website to work at all; others are optional and used for things like analytics and advertising.

This policy explains which cookies EnterReg uses, what each one does, and how you’re in control of them. For more general guidance on cookies, the ICO’s cookies guidance is a good place to start.

The cookies we use

Essential cookies (always on)

These are required for EnterReg to work, so they don’t need your consent and can’t be switched off through our settings. Without them, you couldn’t log in or use the site securely.

  1. Session cookie (_enterreg_session) – keeps you logged in as you move around the site, and is removed when you log out. This also carries the security token that protects the forms you submit, so we know a request genuinely came from you.
  2. Remember me cookie (remember_user_token) – if you tick “remember me” when logging in, this keeps you logged in for up to two weeks.
  3. Consent cookie (cc_cookie) – remembers the cookie choices you’ve made, so we don’t ask you again on every visit.

Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

We use Google Analytics, delivered through Google Tag Manager, to understand how people use EnterReg – things like which pages are visited, how long people spend on the site, and where visitors come from. This helps us improve the service, and the data we look at is aggregated – we’re interested in patterns, not individuals.

You can read more about how Google uses this data in Google’s privacy policy, and you can additionally opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google’s browser opt-out tool.

Advertising cookies (only with your consent)

We advertise EnterReg on social platforms, and these cookies help us understand whether those ads actually work. With your consent, the pixels below may set cookies such as _fbp and _fbc (Meta) and _ttp and ttclid (TikTok) on your device.

Meta Pixel

The Meta Pixel lets us measure how well our ads on Facebook and Instagram perform, and reach people likely to be interested in EnterReg. You can learn more in Meta’s privacy policy and manage your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.

TikTok Pixel

The TikTok Pixel does the same job for our ads on TikTok. You can learn more in TikTok’s privacy policy and manage your ad preferences in your TikTok settings.

Managing your cookie choices

You’re in control, in two ways:

  1. Our cookie banner – choose to accept or reject optional cookies when you first visit, and change your mind at any time via the cookie settings link in our footer. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you say yes, and the site works exactly the same if you say no.
  2. Your browser – every modern browser lets you view, block and delete cookies through its settings. Just be aware that blocking essential cookies will stop parts of EnterReg working properly – you won’t be able to stay logged in, for example.

Changes to this policy

If the cookies we use change, we’ll update this page and the date shown at the top, and refresh your consent choices where the changes are significant.
