Privacy policy

Everything you need to know about your privacy on EnterReg.

Last updated 16th Jul 2026

Introduction

Your privacy matters to us, and we want to be completely upfront about what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and who we share it with. We’ve written this policy in plain English wherever possible, because a privacy policy you can’t understand isn’t much of a privacy policy at all.

EnterReg Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We’re a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13419074, with our registered office at 25 Park Street West, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU1 3BE. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email us at support@enterreg.com or get in touch via our contact page.

This policy applies to everyone who uses EnterReg – private sellers, traders, and visitors to our website.

The data we collect

If you’re a private seller

  1. Account details – your name, email address, phone number, postcode, and a password (which is stored securely encrypted – we can never see it).
  2. Vehicle and listing details – everything you tell us about your car during the listing process, including its condition, history and the photos you upload.
  3. Contact preferences – which channels (phone, WhatsApp, email) you’ve chosen to allow traders to contact you through, if any.
  4. Offers and messages – the offers and messages exchanged between you and traders through the EnterReg platform.

If you’re a trader

  1. Account and business details – your name, email address, phone number, and details about your business including your company name, company number and registered details, which we check against Companies House as part of verification.
  2. Billing details – your subscription plan and payment information. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe – we don’t store your full card details ourselves.
  3. Offers and messages – the offers and messages you exchange with sellers through the platform.

Everyone

  1. Usage data – how you use our website, such as pages visited and features used, collected through cookies and similar technologies. See our cookies policy for the details.
  2. Technical data – things like your IP address, browser type and device information, which help us keep the platform secure and working properly.

How we use your data, and why we’re allowed to

UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for everything we do with your data. Here’s what we do and the basis for each:

To provide our service to you (performance of a contract)

  1. Creating and managing your account.
  2. Publishing your listing and making it visible to verified traders.
  3. Running the EnterReg offers and messaging system between sellers and traders.
  4. For traders – managing your subscription, verification and billing.
  5. Telling you about important changes to our service or these policies.

Sharing your contact details with traders (your consent)

This is the big one for private sellers, so let’s be crystal clear. At the end of the listing process you choose whether traders can contact you by phone, WhatsApp or email. Your phone number and email address are only shared with verified traders in line with the choices you make. If you switch a channel off, traders can’t see or use those details for that channel. You can change your preferences at any time in your account, and changing them takes effect for future contact straight away. Contact through the EnterReg platform itself is always available to traders, as it’s the core way our service works – this happens without your contact details being shared.

Marketing (traders only, and easy to stop)

If you’re a trader, we may send you emails about EnterReg features, offers and services we think will be useful to your business. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping our business customers informed, and every single email includes an unsubscribe link – one click and we’ll stop. We don’t send marketing to private sellers, full stop.

Advertising (only with your consent)

We advertise EnterReg on platforms like Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok. With your consent through our cookie banner, we use the Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel to measure how well our ads perform and to reach people likely to be interested in EnterReg. With that same consent, we may also send limited, hashed information (such as a hashed email address) directly to Meta and TikTok to measure ad conversions – hashing means they can only match it against an account they already hold, and we never send them your details in readable form. If you don’t consent, none of this happens. See our cookies policy for the details.

To run and improve EnterReg (our legitimate interests)

  1. Keeping the platform secure and preventing fraud and misuse – including checking that private sellers aren’t actually businesses in disguise.
  2. Understanding how people use EnterReg so we can improve it, using anonymised and aggregated statistics wherever possible.
  3. Enforcing our terms of use and protecting our legal rights.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we’ve weighed our interests against your rights and only proceed where we’re satisfied your rights aren’t overridden. You can object to any of this processing – see “Your rights” below.

To meet our legal obligations

  1. Keeping records we’re required to keep for tax, accounting and regulatory purposes.
  2. Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.
  3. Responding to lawful requests from authorities.

Who we share your data with

We will never sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:

  1. Verified traders – if you’re a seller, your listing details are visible to verified traders, and your phone number and email address are shared only in line with your contact preferences as described above.
  2. Service providers – trusted companies that help us run EnterReg: our hosting providers (our platform is hosted on Heroku with file storage on Amazon Web Services), Stripe for payments, Postmark for the emails our platform sends you, and Mailchimp for trader marketing emails. They process data only on our instructions and under contracts that meet UK data protection requirements.
  3. Analytics and advertising providers – Google Analytics to understand how our website is used, and, with your consent, Meta and TikTok for advertising measurement as described above. See our cookies policy for details and how to opt out.
  4. Professional advisers – our lawyers, accountants and insurers where necessary.
  5. Authorities – where we’re legally required to disclose data, or where it’s necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of EnterReg, our users or others, including for fraud prevention.
  6. A buyer of our business – if we ever sell or restructure our business, your data may be transferred to the new owners and their advisers as part of that process. Any new owner would be bound by this policy or one offering equivalent protection.

An important note for sellers about traders

Once a trader receives your details in line with your preferences, that trader is responsible in their own right for handling your data lawfully. Our trader terms require them to use your details only for assessing and completing a deal with you, to keep them secure, and to delete them when no longer needed – and never to use them for marketing without your explicit consent. If you believe a trader has misused your data, tell us at support@enterreg.com and we’ll investigate.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored electronically with our hosting providers. Some of our providers store or process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, we make sure the transfer is protected in line with UK data protection law – either because the destination is covered by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework), or through approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

How long we keep your data

  1. While you have an account – we keep your account and listing data so we can provide our service to you.
  2. After your account closes – we keep your data for a reasonable period in case you come back, in case it’s needed to resolve a dispute, and to meet our legal record-keeping obligations. If you’d like your data removed completely, just ask us at support@enterreg.com and we’ll delete everything we’re not legally required to keep.
  3. Messages and offers – kept while relevant to the service and any potential disputes between the parties involved.

Your rights

You have real, exercisable rights over your data, and we’ll never charge you for a reasonable request or make you jump through hoops:

  1. Access – ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you.
  2. Correction – ask us to fix anything that’s wrong or incomplete (you can also update most details yourself in your account).
  3. Erasure – ask us to delete your data, which we’ll do unless we’re legally required to keep it.
  4. Restriction – ask us to pause processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  5. Portability – ask for your data in a machine-readable format to take elsewhere.
  6. Objection – object to processing we carry out under legitimate interests, including trader marketing.
  7. Withdraw consent – change your contact preferences or cookie choices at any time, or withdraw any other consent you’ve given us, without affecting what was done before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these, email support@enterreg.com or write to us at our registered office. We’ll respond within one month.

Children

EnterReg is for adults. You must be at least 18 to use our services, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Keeping your data secure

We take security seriously – our platform uses SSL encryption throughout, passwords are stored securely hashed, access to personal data within our team is limited to those who need it, and our hosting providers maintain their own robust security programmes. No online service can promise perfect security, but if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we’ll notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please contact us first at support@enterreg.com – we take this seriously, we’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, and we’ll investigate properly. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We’ll post any changes to this policy on our website, with the date last updated shown at the top, and where the changes are significant we’ll let you know by email.
